GLT and Sport: Sustainability and Social Welfare

Global Thinking Foundation (GLT) was born with the mission of promoting financial education, addressing mainly women and vulnerable groups of our society. The Foundation’s commitment is aimed at supporting a culture of conscious savings and the value of money for the economic sustainability of families and economic growth, supporting the global objectives of Agenda 2030 including Goal 8.
Since 2019 Global Thinking Foundation began sponsoring three sport teams, different from each other but equal in spirit and in the mission to spread healthy and responsible economic behaviour through the universal values of Sport and teamwork. This sharing of values gives rise to new opportunities for social inclusion:

The three sports teams
to contribute to the development and realization of the person without distinction of age, sex, origins, beliefs and opinions, because Sport is a unique opportunity for action and reflection and to transform our societies guaranteeing a peaceful and supportive future to new generations.
Our favourite teams
Global Thinking Foundation promotes the role of women in sport, combining financial education and women’s empowerment. It supports women’s sports teams and others, creating opportunities for growth, inclusion and economic independence.
Unione Sportiva Livorno 1915
Unione Sportiva Livorno 1915 was founded in 2015. GLT Foundation has supported it since 2025.
Maxibasket Donne
The MaxiBasket Women was born in 2018. GLT Foundation has supported it since 2021.
Vero Volley
Vero Volley Monza Femminile was founded in 2008. GLT Foundation has supported it since 2021.

VITTORIA BIANCO SCHOLARSHIP
Global Thinking Foundation has launched the ‘Vittoria Bianco’ scholarship competition, aimed at male and female students from the University of Salento, the University of Bari and the University of Foggia.
The scholarships are intended to support our mission of promoting sport and inclusion.

SCHOLARSHIPS AND WOMEN SPORT AWARDS
From 2021 to 2024, 18 prizes and 20 scholarships were distributed with the aim of helping and stimulating young women’s interest in sport and study, encouraging them to combine the two activities.
WOMEN LECCE
ASD Salento Women Soccer (SWS) was founded in October 2000, representing a reality deeply rooted in the Salento area, made up of a group of girls of all ages, from 10 years old upwards.
In December 2019, from the ‘marriage’ with the men’s Serie A team U.S. Lecce, Women Lecce was born.
Global Thinking Foundation partnered with Women Lecce from 2020 to 2024. During this period, numerous activities were carried out with the athletes and the ‘nursery’ of new promises, through webinars and meetings in which the topics of the projects ‘ImmaginiAMO Sostenibile’ and ‘Libere di…VIVERE’ were discussed, creating opportunities for debate on the topics of sustainability, financial education and civic and digital education.
In addition, prize competitions and scholarships were made available to support the players, contributing to their personal and sporting growth.
